Gympie Arterial Road (Bald Hills), replace and improve noise barriers

The department is replacing a section of noise barriers on the western side of Gympie Arterial Road, north of Strathpine Road in Bald Hills.

This $5 million project involves installing new concrete noise barriers to help reduce the impact of road traffic noise in the area. The new barriers will extend north from the barriers installed as part of the Gympie Arterial Road and Strathpine Road Interchange Upgrade.

  • Installing approximately 280m of concrete noise barriers to replace a section of  existing timber barriers on the western side of Gympie Arterial Road.
  • New barriers set further back than existing barriers to reduce the likelihood of impacts from future upgrades to Gympie Arterial Road.
